Well completion (construction of pumping stations)

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrint

Well completion includes the construction of the pumping station, electric installation and wiring works, connection to utility networks and the construction of the sanitary protection zone.

There are three main types of pumping stations:

  • underground pavilion;
  • surface pavilion;
  • semiburied pavilion.

The most popular type is the underground pavilion. Among its advantages are: a moderate price, it does not need additional heat insulation, does not take up much space on the site. Its disadvantage is complicated assembly and disassembly of equipment into the pavilion after completion of works. Also, it is impossible to use this pavilion on lands with high ground-water level.

As a rule, such a pavilion is made from reinforced-concrete shaft rings, floor slabs and manholes. It can also be assembled from reinforced-concrete slabs for heat chambers.

The surface pavilion is the most expensive, but it has a number of advantages, namely: it is convenient to control equipment in this engineering and utility services room and it is can be constructed on lands with high ground-water level. Among disadvantages is the necessity of additional heat insulation and guard.

The semiburied pavilion is constructed in the same way as the surface one, however only a part of it remains on the ground. It is a compromise decision for some places with a high, but admissible ground-water level.
